Kaveh's latest project!

Hey everybody,
Over the past few years, I've been working on a collaborative remix project called The Audiozine and now the first issue is online at www.audiozine.org.
So what is the Audiozine? In early 2004, I started collecting submissions of music, field recordings, and noise from friends and fellow musicians for this project. Selections ranged from acoustic fingerpicked guitar to hip-hop to recordings of an explosion on a student film set. After getting over 5 hours of submissions, I divided up the material onto 4 CD-Rs and sent them to 4 collaborators who were given total freedom to edit, cut, and mash up everything into 10-15 minute selections of remixed audio. Finally, I spliced and rearranged the four sets of remixes to create the final product: Audiozine Volume 01.
In the future, there will be more collaborative audio projects posted. Volume 02 is already in the works and will feature some submissions that didn't make it to Volume 01. Also, in the next few weeks I'm going to begin blogging about new and old music, concerts, and music criticism.
You're getting this e-mail either because you contributed to the project, expressed interest in hearing the final product, or are just a super-nice person who I thought might be interested. If you want to unsubscribe or (especially for all you graduating folks) would like to change your e-mail address, that can be done on the front page of the website.
Cheers,
Kaveh
