James Ford aka DJ Hummingbird Feeder aka the current force behind Nailgun Media has put together what promises to be the supreme dance party of the month. In his own words:

Hi friends,

I'm throwing a dance party at Dust this Friday. Dust is the UTZ potato-chip warehouse on the corner of East Market St. and Meade. Friday is tomorrow! Dancing is fun. Music will be provided by myself, and my good friends Billy and Will.

Will McCutcheon is an old friend of ours, a former Cviller now based in New York, who has spent the past year touring with (and doing lighting + sound stuff for) M.I.A. and The Faint. He plays smart mashups of popular dance songs and rap classics. expect a lot of pitched-up Biggie samples synced to Daft Punk beats.

Billy Hunt is a notorious man-about-town, a reformed former goth kid who is now the king of guilty-pleasure jams. He will almost certainly play a lot of Adam Ant, probably also some Duran Duran and George Michael songs that you forgot you liked. Some newer dancey-pop stuff as well. He and I have made dance parties happen before.

I play an eclectic mix of fun hits and obscurities; 60's soul and r&b classics, underground 70's funk explosions, 80's rap phenomena, jamaican ska, groovy moog goodness, and misc. weird stuff, but weird stuff that is charming and fun to dance to. I'll probably play a warm-up set at the beginning and some floorclearing madness towards the end. the three of us may also get drunk a do a round-robin DJ trade-off set thing in the middle, which is always fun.

So it's at Dust, starting 9pm-ish and continuing through 3am, hopefully. It's a "Nailgun Media Presents" thing, which basically means that I helped put it together and I think it'll be fun. We made a silly sci-fi poster that actually looks pretty cool and you can look at it here: http://www.nailgunmedia.com/posters/dance_at_dust.jpg

I hope to see some of you there.

cheers,
James
