Nels Cline Singers Live Sets Posted

Hey all,

Two weeks ago, I met avant-garde jazz/noise guitar legend Nels Cline in person before he played with his group, Nels Cline Singers, at the Paramount Theater in Cville, VA. With permission from Nels and the Paramount, I recorded the entire set and it is now available along with blog commentary and pictures provided by the Paramount via their Flickr account.

Spoon, Radiohead vs. DJ Shadow, J Dilla/Madlib, Kanye+Pharrell+Lupe Fiasco

Hey folks,

Audiozine Listening Series 04 is upon us. The contents include:

-Two tracks from a 7" limited vinyl by Spoon.
-DJ Shadow remixing Radiohead's "The Gloaming".
-Jaylib = J Dilla + Madlib --> a track from a white label vinyl by these geniuses of hip-hop production
-Kanye West + Pharrell of the Neptunes + Lupe Fiasco = Child Rebel Soldiers --> rapping over a beat that samples the title track from Thom Yorke's "The Eraser" solo album.

Enjoy all of this sonic generosity here: http://www.audiozine.org/node/144

Kaveh's latest project!

Hey everybody,
Over the past few years, I've been working on a collaborative remix project called The Audiozine and now the first issue is online at www.audiozine.org.
So what is the Audiozine? In early 2004, I started collecting submissions of music, field recordings, and noise from friends and fellow musicians for this project. Selections ranged from acoustic fingerpicked guitar to hip-hop to recordings of an explosion on a student film set. After getting over 5 hours of submissions, I divided up the material onto 4 CD-Rs and sent them to 4 collaborators who were given total freedom to edit, cut, and mash up everything into 10-15 minute selections of remixed audio.
